Beginners course 250510

Today I met a lady with the most sensible brain in the world! And what a rewarding day it was indeed. Amanda had mountain biked for a couple of years and never felt comfortable going downhill when the terrain was ever so slightly rocky, preferring to walk rather than risking having a crash. Today was all about doing things very gradually to slowly build up the confidence to tackle the downhills armed with the correct descending techniques. The terrain got increasingly rocky as the day went on and Amanda made herself proud by mobilising all the courage she had to be able to ride down things she normally never would have considered riding before! And she didn't even fall off once!

Wow! Just wait until Rachel hits the trails!!! She did say she was a thrill seeker and wanting an adventure and she definitely wasn't exaggerating! After trying climbing, booking in for sky jumping and coming on a mountain bike beginners course all in one week she certainly doesn't hang about and neither did she hang about on the trails. Completely fearless she moved to harder and harder stuff and rode it all without a moments hesitation! My job was very easy, just point Rachel in the right direction and off she went! With a hugely competitive nature she just wouldn't accept being beaten by any obstacle and even managed the last rocky bit on the very long climb after refusing to give up! Wouldn't be surprised to find Rachel on the racing circuit soon!

Beginners course 210510

Ah, summer is here! In scorching temperature Christine, Paul and Heinrich attended the beginners course. The day went really well and by the end everyone was able to tackle scary drop-offs and steep descents which made for an enjoyable day. Although I'll strongly recommend not to exclaim "we have never had any punctures" before the course as poor Christine got two! And discovered she didn't even need the tyre levers to fix it!

Really enjoyed the day and thought your instruction gave me both the skills and confidence to try some of the challenges - especially the rocky bit above your house and the drop-off by the roots at the end I would never in a million years have attempted before Friday. I went out in Macc Forest for a few hours yesterday morning to put my new found skills and confidence into practice and for the first time ever managed to ride all the way down Charity Lane which was fantastic - and now seems not too bad at all...!
Would recommend the course to anybody.
Cheers
Heinrich

Beginners course 050510

Tom turned up on a quiet Wednesday and got a day packed with beginner stuff as well as the odd intermediate skill as we were making fast progress! He quickly got the hang of difficult obstacles despite not having attempted any technical riding previously. Great day yet again!

Beginners course 020510

Great day again with a nice mix of ages and abilities! For a few the course was a way of getting confidence back after bad crashes, for others a way of fine polishing their technique and at the same time getting the next generation hooked on the sport! 12 year old Max beat us all up the hills and didn't even end the climbing there (look at photo!).
